Data Deletion Status

When we process a deletion request, we permanently remove:
- Your Kuruvi account profile (name, email, phone, photo, username)
- All conversations and messages you sent or received
- OAuth tokens for any connected platforms (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Shopify, eBay, YouTube)
- Push notification tokens and device identifiers
- Subscription and billing identifiers (Stripe customer reference)
- Marketplace listings you created
- Ask Kuruvi conversation history (your questions and AI responses)
- Cached AI training-context references (none retained beyond 30 days)
Third-party AI provider data: OpenAI does not store our API requests after processing (per OpenAI's API data policy). Their data is not retained for training.
What we may retain (and why)
- Anonymized audit logs β for fraud detection and security investigations. No personally identifiable information.
- Financial records β required to be retained for tax purposes (typically 7 years) under US law and EU rules.
- Backups β overwritten within 30 days.
Why deletion may not be possible right away
A small number of situations block immediate deletion. In all of them we'll tell you what to fix and process the deletion as soon as it's resolved.
- Active subscription β cancel the subscription first (Settings β Subscription β Cancel, or kuruvi.com/account on iOS). Once it's no longer active, deletion can proceed.
- Outstanding billing β a failed payment or unpaid invoice needs to be settled. Stripe's hosted billing portal handles this; the link is in your last billing email.
- Legal hold β if your account is part of an active legal investigation, ongoing arbitration, or a regulatory request, we may be required to preserve specific data until the matter is resolved. This is rare; we'll notify you if it applies.
How long it takes
We initiate deletion within 24 hours of receiving a request and complete it within 30 days. Concretely:
- Direct deletion (in-app): immediate; full deletion within 30 days.
- Email-requested deletion: 24-hour acknowledgment, completion within 30 days.
- Facebook-routed deletion: confirmation code issued immediately; completion within 30 days.
Confirmation email: after your account is deleted, you'll receive a confirmation email at your account email address. Save this for your records.
